Find Your Spot

Are you interested in finding what places best fit what you love about life? If the answer is yes or if you would just like to take a fun quiz, then visit the Find Your Spot website (the blog title is linked). The quiz will discover what you look for most in a location by asking you questions about climate, culture, recreation, geography and much more. It will then generate your top 25 places to live. My top 10 were: 1) Albany, NY 2) Harrisburg, PA 3) Tallahassee, FL 4) Tacoma, WA 5) Ocala, FL 6) Chattanooga, TN 7) Gainesville, FL 8) Roanoke, VA 9) Ogden, UT and 10) Hattiesburg, MS. Once your list is generated you can read all about them and maybe find out why the site matched you with the location. I don't know if I was asked what place I would most want to live, if any of these would have popped into my head. Where are your top spots? Does it match the places where you have dreamed about living? You will be asked to register with your name and email address before you can view your locations. I have taken this quiz twice now (registering both times) and have not received SPAM or annoying emails from the site.

My top city was Charleston, SC...weird. My personal top cities are NYC and LA which were 19 and 15. Los Angeles beat NYC...can you believe it?

Fun quiz! Here are my top 6:

Portland, Oregon
Baltimore, Maryland
Eugene, Oregon
Norfolk, Virginia
Hampton, Virginia
Frederick, Maryland

No where in the Midwest... and I didn't even intentionally discriminate against it!

Uncle John-- look at all your Alaska's and Montana's, I guess the northwest is the place for you!

I find it so interesting that there is so much variety in everyone's locations.

Ke,
Golf was a priority. Perfect weather for me in the Mid-Atlantic too. Also, college and pro sports were big.

Yeah Leigh Leigh, I was actually thinking the same thing...will this family live in close proximity ever again?

H-burg NO way. Must be Mick is going with me. Lots of mining around there. LA Girl keeps telling me I need to move to Albany to be closer to Mau. Now, Roanoke I would for sure consider!!!
LA Girl, do you belive Erie? Another BIG no way.

Oh, not only is Ke a Democrat but must be a BIG Liberal. Middlebury is filled with tree huging, tea drinking artists.

Gel-oh, we had a lot of the same ones...Harrisburg, Roanoke, and Albany. Roanoke would be lovely. I have good memories of our year there. It must have been pretty good because I was only 5 or 6 and I distinctively remember a lot about our time there.

Hehe; GEL-oh hit that on the head; I actually requested on my quiz that some democrats live nearby (I have been deprived of them for too long in the "red state midwest.") Actually, I wouldn't call myself liberal but left of center definitely! I do love trees though, but don't drink tea and if you examine some of my china painting products, you'd agree I am no artist!!

My list was almost exactly like the Mad Bird's. I did it last week, but couldn't post a comment for some reason. My first was Palmer, AK! I believe I had EVERY city that's on The Bird's list! I wrote them on a piece of scrap paper. Must have thrown it out with all the cleaning going on here!

This must be a real estate company run quiz with a very limited list of cities, otherwise, I am sure you would have all come up with Schenectady, NY as number 1! What's not to like?

Hey, Ke,
ALBANY, NY is the Democratic capital of the world!

Mau, what? No N'Awlins?
