We participated in the 4th Annual Spring Sting Pub Run a couple of weeks ago. Yes, you are reading that correctly, we ran from bar to bar. The pub run was started to celebrate a friend of ours who was stung by a sting ray and fully recovered. Once she was able to move around again, they decided what better way to celebrate than to drink and run, just because we can.
Each leg of the run is about a mile with a one leg where you just have to hop across the square, as seen above.

It was a wonderful trip, although Steven has vowed not to need another snow and cold experience like that again for about 10 years, while I could do it again tomorrow.
We are now home and after a slight snow dusting of the city, it has almost come to a halt. Lots of ice on the roads and very little milk and bread. A very different scenario in comparison to the northern states.
We were able to get a lot of golf in over the Thanksgiving holiday. There is an inexpensive Par 3 course not far from the folks. This was my first attempt at a full course and I really enjoyed playing.

We attended a party on Halloween eve and pulled our costumes right out of the closet. As several people said, we were not really out of our element considering that they fit our personalities and past activities. At least we dressed up and to my happiness did not spend money on unnecessary costumes. Yes, except for the glasses and the mullet, Steven actually wears that gear out into the woods!

Her sister, Hannah Marie, is now a year and seven months and is developing quite a personality. Everyone is thinking that Leigh Leigh will be much easier than Leigh Anna and keep trying to plant that seed with her. I must say that it makes me smile every time I hear it and would love to have another family use the nickname.
The entire time that I was in Philadelphia I wanted to ride the Ducks. I finally got the chance when I was visiting Kathleen in transit to a conference that I was attending outside of D.C. We went to Baltimore for the day and decided to ride the Ducks. It was a fun journey that gave you a taste of the city's history on land and of course by boat. It was a good time, but I am not sure that I would do it again. I think part of the excitement was lost because we only had about 7 people on our tour.
The open space in this picture is called the oval. It has several soccer and baseball fields that can be rented and used for league play. Our kickball team spent the first part of the season playing here. You have great views of the city skyline while you are playing.
Last weekend we attended a bachelor/bachelorette party on a disco bus. As you can see the party had a theme and we were all required to dress as nerds. I was a very low key nerd with my Legends of Zelda shirt, but a lot of the group went all out.

This is a group shot of most of the nerd ladies. You can see the bride-to-be in the center with her crown. We drove all over Atlanta and made stops in various neighborhoods to have a drink and then get back on the bus.
We did find a two mile trail with an entrance just off the road that brought us into the park. This picture was taken along that trail. Unfortunately a piece of it ran along a power line trail and so you get a little of that in the background.

The house also sat on a creek. A short hiking trail traveled along the creek and provided a good path for all of those whose dogs traveled along for the weekend.

Jennifer, Dusty, and Maggie came to visit us last weekend. They were really interested in checking out the GA Aquarium and so traveled the very boring strip of I-20 from Augusta to Atlanta to stay with us. Saturday afternoon we went to one our favorite Atlanta spots, Stone Mountain State Park. You may remember from an early blog that this is where we got engaged. I really love to take people here so that they can see the spot and also just enjoy some time outside. We had a picnic lunch by the bells and then walked through the village. On Sunday afternoon Jennifer, Dusty, and I ventured to the aquarium while Steven headed to the airport for a business trip to London. The aquarium was a very expensive investment, but a lot of fun. They had a special Titanic exhibit that was really cool. 
We traveled to Augusta on Thursday evening to spend time with Jenn and her husband. Augusta is about 2 hours from Atlanta and you pass right through it to get to Columbia, which is another hour and 1/2 east on I-20. They just bought a home and we had not gotten a chance to see it in person yet. We spent most of the 4th just lounging around and eating. Towards the end of the day we played a little Bocce Ball in the back yard and then headed to see the fireworks. It was a nice way to spend the holiday. Steven and I both had to work on Saturday afternoon, but at least we got one day of relaxation.
The whole family traveled to Clemson, SC in May to see Jonathan graduate. I know, I am quite a slacker, it has been almost a month and I am finally posting.
I must say that this was one of the worst graduation ceremonies that I have ever been to. They insist on keeping to tradition and read the name of every graduate as they walked across the stage. Jonathan was 500 and something on the right side of the coliseum. This means that there more than 500 on the left and therefore he was almost the last name to be called. Wow!
Steven's niece was baptized this past Suday at a Methodist Church in Buckhead (the part of town that Steven and his brother's family live in). She was born in October of 2007 and is now almost 7 months. Being the first grandchild, she has managed to wrap the whole family around her little finger. This picture was taken after the service at his sister in laws' parents house. We celebrated there and all had brunch together.
